The below information is specific to Kingsway LAC.

It is aimed at assisting those unfamiliar with our Centre to have an enjoyable event. 

PARENT ROSTER​

Families with athletes competing at the Zones Championship are required to complete a roster to help run the day.

No special skills or knowledge are necessary, but a positive attitude is a must.


Please remember if you have multiple children competing, you will need to complete multiple rosters.

If your child is competing in multiple events, please consider signing up for multiple rosters to assist the competition run smoothly.

Please select your roster by clicking the button below.

When it comes to the event, please sign in at the Kingsway office and head to your site.

Please ensure you leave enough time to arrive at your site at the allocated time.

LOCATION​

Kingsway Little Athletics Centre is conveniently located within the Kingsway Sporting Complex in Madeley.

The complex can be accessed from Hepburn Avenue to the South, Hartman Drive to the East, and Kingsway to the North.

Once in the complex, the Kingsway Centre can be found on the corner of Spectator Drive and Sporting Drive.

PARKING​

The Kingsway Sporting Complex has ample parking available with the main Kingsway LAC carpark (indicated in green and blue) having several hundred bays available including multiple ACROD parking bays.

Overflow parking can be found to the North in the Netball area and to the West in the Soccer area.
Both carparks are a short walk away. 

Additionally the complex has street parking available on most streets however these spots are very often occupied by the Kingsway Dog Park (corner of Hartman Drive and Sporting Drive) and the Rugby Club which is opposite KLAC.

KINGSWAY LAC ARENA​

Kingsway LAC covers a large area with the majority of our Field sites located around the outer area of the main oval.

Our six jump pits are located in the North Eastern corner of the arena, while our four Shot Put and three main Discus sites are found in the South Western corner of the arena. 

The main oval is home to our two tracks - a ten lane short track and separate ten lane long track as well as our Javelin and High Jump sites. 

Kingsway LAC's main oval is surrounded by sloping hills covered with grass providing ample room for spectators with great vantage points and many trees providing shade on those warm Summer competitions.

HUNGRY?​

Kingsway LAC will have the canteen open all day Saturday and Sunday. Accepting both cash and EFTPOS, the canteen is located within the Football clubrooms. If you are looking for a quick bite then you can access the canteen on the outside of the building at the top of the stairs. Alternatively, if you are looking for an escape from the warmer weather, you can also access the canteen from the inside before sitting at the tables and chairs to eat. 

 

So what's on the menu?

Breakfast menu items available until 10:30am include bacon and egg rolls, toasties, fruit cups, granola and yoghurt cups.

Lunch items include both hot and cold options including pulled pork and slaw burgers, nachos, chicken burgers, sausage sizzle, chips, assorted rolls, salad bowls and sushi.

Snacks include muffins, cheese and crackers, veggie sticks with dip, mixed lollies, frozen yoghurt, icy poles (including sugar free options) and assorted drinks.

Also on site all weekend are Cafe2U.

Run by locals Steve and Margaret, this wonderful company has been supporting our Centre for many years. 

Alongside their hot coffee and tea, Cafe2U also offer cold frappes in a variety of flavours (the Mint Creme biscuit is a very popular option at our Centre!). Cafe2U is also where you will find the most popular drink on competition days - frozen slushies!

Boost Juice will also be on site all day Sunday.

Always popular, Boost offer a variety of fruit and vegie juices and smoothies.

ALSO ON SITE...​

Kingsway LAC will have some great attractions on site during the Zone Championships.

Keep on Running

Former National mountain running champion Bruce Hogg will be on site on Saturday with his Keep on Running van.

Offering arguably the best selection of Track and Field shoes in Australia, Bruce can also offer the best advice on footwear for your Little Athlete.

Rae's FX Facepainting

On site Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm will be the amazing talents of Rae's FX Facepainting.

Rae and her team will be available to bring a splash of colour with some fun and laughter to all the faces wanting to be painted. 

The Face painting will be on us, but we ask that you drop a donation into the tin for Perth Children's Hospital Foundation.

Roaming Photo Booth

On site Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 1.30pm will be ever popular Roaming Photo booth. 

The team from the Mighty Booths will be walking around the venue with the portable photo booth ready for anyone who wants to grab a snap, video or boomerang gif to remember the event. The image is then sent directly by phone or email. This one is sure to be popular with the athletes!

OFF SITE...​

We know that some athletes may have large gaps between events or even a younger sibling who needs a break from athletics at some point over the weekend, so the below information covers some local attractions and amenities you may find useful.

Dinosaur Park

Located within the Kingsway Sporting complex just 300m away from our arena, the City of Wanneroo have a fantastic park known as 'Dinosaur Pak'. The park is a hit with dinosaur enthusiasts as it has footprints to follow, statutes to climb and fossils to find in the sand pit. The park also has the usual playground equipment and is mostly fenced with a couple of small openings, lots of shade and public barbecues.

On the Eastern side of the park is a small lake which is home to many ducks and water birds. 

On the Western side of the park is a play space with a range of fun water features to enjoy. The sprinklers can be activated for 10-minute intervals via a push button located on the left side of the gate and can be re-activated as often as desired during opening hours. The water play space is open for public use daily from 8am to 7pm.

Kingsway Markets

Located next to the Dinosaur Park are the Kingsway Markets. Open Saturday morning from 8am to 12pm, entry is free and there are around twenty different stalls to browse. The local community event has a great choice of locally grown fruit and veg, craft producers and live music. The market is dog friendly and have weekly dog treat and accessories stalls.

Landsdale Farm

Located a kilometre away on Evandale Road is a unique educational farm that is open to everyone!
At Landsdale Farm you can get up close with the animals, learn about farming and relax in beautiful surrounds.
They have goats, donkeys, cows, sheep, ponies, geese, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and much more! Everyday is busy at Landsdale Farm. With animal feeding, daily interaction, cart rides and more, there is something for everyone!

Darch Plaza

Located a kilometre away on the corner of Kingsway and Ashdale Boulevard, is Darch Plaza.

The plaza is home to over twenty stores including a 24/7 IGA, a medical centre, Bloom's chemist, physio, dentist, newsagency, ATM, hairdresser, barber, beautician and more.

Opposite the plaza is the Kingsway Bar and Bistro which is the perfect place to have dinner at the end of the event. 

Kingsway City Shopping Centre

Located a kilometre away on the corner of Hepburn Avenue and Wanneroo Road, is Kingsway City Shopping Centre.

The shopping centre is home to over seventy stores including a petrol station, a medical centre, chemist, ATM and more.

Open Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
